Okay I need to go blow off some ammo tomorrow AM. Practice practice practice, right?
:fire
I'm in West Pearland by the Bass Pro Shops.
I'd prefer an outdoor range.
Yeah Yeah PSC is a great range but I'm not a member there (yet).
Suggestions?

Best Shot Range west of 45 on FM2351 (Clear Lake City blvd): http://www.bestshotrange.com/

The Arms Room off of 45 in League City in the old Circuit City building: http://www.thearmsroomtx.com/

Maybe there are some closer to you though.

Your right by Baileys off of Alemeda. Not the greatest place - but it is outdoors ...

I haven't seen Best Shot Range since Matt did all of the renovations, but it looks great now. Anyone who saw it before he bought the place knows how much work he has done. Thanks for the link.

Chas.

Bailey's didn't work. Two thumbs down.
Showed up and was charged per gun. Okay fine, I only brought the 1911 and the mossberg.
Range rules? 25 yards only. No, you can't shoot the .45 at a closer range, because people have been tearing up the target holders. I tried reasoning with the range master about the fact that pistols are more accurate at closer ranges. Deaf ears. Oh, and your shotgun? You can't shoot it on the same lane as your pistol. They wanted me to shoot it 8 lanes down from where I was set up with my pistol. The only targets they had for sale were so small that I'm certain the front sight post of my 1911 would have covered the entire target at that range.
Thanks but no thanks.
At least they gave me my money back.
Gun shop was dingy, poorly lit, cramped and dirty. I've seen cleaner truck stop bathrooms in Mexico.
I might go there if I need to shoot a rifle to sight it in and I'm desperate. Otherwise, not only no, but hell no I will never go back there.
Ended up at the Arms room. Very friendly staff. Great clean modern facility, well lit and ventilated range.
Ended up running about a hundred fifty rounds through the 1911.
Mossberg is giving me issues. Safety kept coming back on with the recoil of each shot. Left it with the gunsmith there for repairs.

I'm sorry. I shouldn't have sent you there - but you mentioned outdoors. I'm glad you got your money back - I'm sorry for the wasted trip and time. A friend of mine shoots matches there - it seems ok for that activity. But other than that I don't care for it much either.

Don't sweat it, nothing to apolgize for. Heck of a bad way to run a business in my book, between the ridiculous range rules and the dingy shop.

Thanks for the kind words, Charles. The more people utilizing all of gun ranges, he better for everyone. Stop by and check out our improvements.

I'll have to try BestShot out as well. The Arms Room was really, really nice. I'd rate the facility a 9 out of 10. The actulal shop a 7 1/2 out of 10 only because of limited selection on stuff. The staff, a 9 out of 10 as well, they were all friendly as could be.

Got a call Thursday from The Arms Room. My shotgun that I had problems with, and left with the gunsmith on Wed? Yeah, fixed and test fired. One day turnaround on a gun repair the month before hunting season. :thewave

I had forgot about the facility out there, last time I was out that way was 6-8 years ago.
The place has been upgraded real nice.
