Ole' Joe speaks again...

A government investigator has discovered that 89,000 stimulus payments of $250 went to people who were either dead or in prison by mistake. Do the math... that is over $22 million. Now they want us to believe that they have Health Care under control?

To this, Vice President Joe Biden responded, “The crucial objective of any stimulus program is to spend money. To carp about the money going to crooks doesn’t refute the fact that the money still got spent. In the big picture, it makes no difference whether the funds were spent as ‘wisely’ as some are now demanding. Besides, it’s been my experience that crooks tend to be bigger spenders than so-called hard-working, honest people. So, on balance, it’s probably a shame that some of the stimulus money wasn’t diverted to crooks.”

The biggest problem is that he thinks spending will actually help the economy, we really need more savings.

He gives better sound bites than W. did. The only problem is that Uncle Joe's aren't funny. They are just sad.

Actually, it appears that someone did make the stuff up:

The Arizona Conservative blog "Fed May Introduce Negative Interest Rates" By John Semmens: Semi-News — A Satirical Look at Recent News.

Not even FoxNews is covering this "story." I think it is a hoax.

Typically, he's all for spending other people's money. When it comes to his money he's not quite so generous. I recall his charitable contributions before the 2008 election was about $1300 total for the previous 10 years. I'm trying to research again

EDIT: Well it was $3690 for ten years span. He IS a big spender!!

I do know that the stimulus payments to the dead and the prisoners have been reported by CNN and Fox. Now, the quote by Biden... having doubts about that one...

It still bothers me how incompetent our Government really is!

Maybe Ole' Joe was hanging around with Good Ole' Boy Harry:
http://www.slate.com/id/2270162/

......His demeanor made it hard to tell whether he was being aggressive or defensive when he justified the millions he'd brought to Nevada by holding up a copy of the Constitution he carries with him every day. "It is part of my constitutional duties to do congressionally directed spending," he said, holding the maroon volume given to him and signed by former Sen. Robert Byrd. "I am vigorous in going forward with congressionally directed spending and I fight for it."

Regarding payments to dead people, I seem to remember hearing that the government was having a hard time recovering that money. Has anyone else heard this? I wonder why?

I've heard that they tend to vote a lot... especially with the help of ACORN.
