The above is a PM I received on OCT 6 from a board member, Marksiwel2. To some of you that name may look familiar.

Is this really what this forum is coming to?
Does it really make people feel all big and bad when they cower behind a keyboard?

I guess I just don't get it.

He was already banned once or twice for obnoxious behavior. Pay him no mind. Anyone who would wish a crippling injury or death to someone for holding a differing viewpoint is a bigoted cretin of the first water - particularly when the person upon whom the cretin is wishing such a fate is actually in a position to accidentally step on a landmine in real life.

That kind of talk usually only comes from people lacking the spine to join the military themselves. Consider the source and ignore it.

I know he chose the land mine line carefully as he truly wishes that would happen. It just escapes me why one would attempt to be menacing through a keyboard.

Like I stated earlier I guess I just don't get it. I know that I do not agree with what some people say here and vice versa. The topic where he quoted me from is an example. However, I have yet to want to type a nasty PM and send it to one of those who differs in opinion to make me feel like a "man".

I have a rule that I live by. It is: " people only talk about themselves". I don't take such drivel personally as I know he is talking about himself. His self hate is only thinly disguised.

I find it extremely ironic that institutions we count on to protect our lives, property, and our way of life, will have their personnel selection policies and procedures questioned by those unwilling, or incapable, of serving in those particular professions.

No one questions professional sports teams when they pursue only those with the highest physical standards for their profession. And yet...if a segment of the population fails to meet the physical or mental demands established by a fire department, or a police department, or our military, they DEMAND the standards are lowered to accommodate that segment of the population.

I guess it IS more important our society has the fastest wide receivers available to score that touch down, as opposed to having the individual capable of carrying the body out of a burning building, or physically restraining a felon, or having the strength and endurance needed to fight our nations wars.

They are doin pretty good. Kids are back in school and liking it so far. It's a bit stressful on the wife having to play mom and dad along with taking care of the house and hold down a job but she is strong and is working through it.

How are all you guys doing?
