I saw that except for the fact that apparently that guy also works for large gun manufacturing plants in South Carolina and Florida. It was amazing, not only does he work in three identical firearm plants but he also wears the same clothes.

Please vote! If not this man will lose his job in three differnt States!

It's nice to know that the NRA is still playing the fear-mongering card.

I really wonder with Rick Perry will do if/when Nancy Pelosi single handedly shoots Joe Biden and Barack Obama, climbs up on the presidential podium, and by force of evil will alone causes every gun in America to spontaneously combust?

Will he get a hose out?


Not saying I don't support Rick Perry, but this ad seems just a bit silly to me. In effect, it's saying:
"The federal government is going to take your guns away, so elect me for governor. Not for Congress, where I might be able to stop Nancy Pelosi, but for Governor, where I can't do much."

Thats a good call nitrogen. I have myself pondered many a time what will happen when Pelosi throws up on Biden, hisses razor sharp teeth at the members of Congress, and crawls across the ceiling while Barak tries to shoot her with his shotgun durning a State of the Union. Its definately something to think about.

While the Governor can't do anything at the federal level, he can do things at the state level which is also important. I think the idea behind the ad is not to imply that he can change things at the federal level but that his opponent is cut from the same gun banning cloth as the Speaker and her political friends.

This ad is a cookie cutter add. If you will notice when he starts talking about "we need a governor ..." the camera no longer shows his face. This is so that the actual voice over can be changed to suit the needs of the ad's target. If they want to use this ad for a governor you hear the version posted above, if they want to use this ad for a senator I bet there's a version of this same ad for that, same goes for any other political position.

With all that said, I must agree it's a poorly worded and poorly executed ad. The NRA is capable of a much better product. While Perry may not be the perfect candidate, he is better for gun rights than Bill White who I might point out was a member of MAIG until it became politically inconvenient. And that statement is the idea that the NRA should be pushing.

I agree. As much as I hate commercials and advertisements I always pay close attention to them. An advertisement seeks to accomplish a goal: to sell or promote a product, service, idea, candidate, etc. Good advertisements do this by making a catchy jingle or using something memorable, like AT&T's Rollercoaster commercial (though that one has its own problems too). If people are being forced to watch companies tell us about things most of us don't want, we at least want them to be interesting so it will stick around with us and be talked about. That's the problem with the NRA commercial: it's so mindbogglingly boring that people won't give it a second look, let alone talk about it. I couldn't even bring myself to hit replay.

An effective Governor can easily serve to offset and highlight the deficiencies of an ineffective President. I am voting for Perry despite his appearance of not being the sharpest tool in the shed. He simply seems like a good guy to me.

It's sad and frustrating that election after election we have to choose between the devil and "compared to the other guy he's not so bad..."

Well, most of you know that I think Rick Perry is a bottom crawling snake - but will vote for him anyway. So the most important questions that came to my mind after watching this ad is ...

What gun was that??? It looks cool!
Was that a manufacturing jig on the top or is that part of the gun?
It looks like the slide only extends half way up the frame - is that right?

Many of us have to work more than one job just to stay afloat these days, a situation that bambam and company want to perpetuate.

I myself get paid by a major telecommunications company to work at Home Depot and get paid by them too. Still working on getting the federal government to pay me too.

jim not knocking working several jobs at one time, have had to do it numerous times, currently I am blessed with one job that does well, but that can always change, and i have no problem doing what it takes. My point was the NRA used a cookie cutter ad that didnt fit Texas. I am sure it is somewhat effective but with all the NRA's resources I would expect a better ad that wasnt also playing in other States. They need to tailor their ads to each State and make it real. That was my point.
