thinking about starting to reload for 45acp been looking at the lee pro 1000 lee loadmaster 45 acp kit, been hearing hit and miss reviews on both ends of the pro and con spectrum, has anyone here heard anything or have experience with these products?

My Loadmaster has worked like a champ. To this point I've probably done upwards of 8K rounds of 9mm and .45 combined. About the only thing to keep an eye on is the primer feed to make sure that a new primer drops each time the carrier rotates. When it comes to setting the press up, check out the videos on YouTube and ignore the documentation. While the paper documentation might be accurate, it doesn't help one visualize what needs to be done.

Love my Loadmaster. I have it set up with case feeder and bullet feeder. It will flat crank out some ammo.

I used a Lee Pro 1000 for about eight years. Over 20k rounds went through it. It's a finicky machine but works good if you keep it clean and keep your eye on the primer tray. It relies on the weight of the other primers to keep them moving so don't let it get low to the point there's not many primers in the feed. It's a pain if a primer flips over right at the end too. My shell holder base finally cracked so I bought a Dillon 650 about six months ago. BIG difference! Like getting out of a Geo Metro and into a Cadillac. I still recommend the Lee to someone wanting to get into reloading. It served me well.

I have a Loadmaser it's not a Dillon but it's not in the same price range. As mentioned above the primer feed can drive you up a wall and the powder measure needs to be kept at least half full to get consistant charges. For the money I think Lee progressives are a good value.

One nice thing about Lee Loadmaster are all the online videos showing how to set it up and keep it running smoothly. There is also a nice Loadmaster forum where people will help newbies with any problems that arise. My Loadmaster runs great. I have a smashed or flipped primer maybe once or twice per thousand rounds.

If you are mechanically inclined and reasonably able to understand mechanical processes, then it would be a good fit for you. If you are someone (like my uncle) who needs help changing a fluorescent bulb, then not a good fit.

Can be finicky but for the money, its well worth it. I have an older Lee Progressive from 20 years ago, I have loaded .357 Mag, .44 mag, 9 MM, 10mm, .40 caliber with mine, no idea how many 1000's of rounds, a few small primer issues through the years but overall I would recommend!!

awesome guys thanks for all the infromation i think im set on getting a loadmaster, really want a dillon but im kinda trying to stay within a budget, i mean for the cost of the loadmaster and all accessories id need itd be able to pay for JUST the dillon press lol
