I yesterday (Friday) I signed the papers on my new house, the sellers are going to sign on Monday. Now on the phone before I went they told me I needed to bring my DL because they'd need a copy of it (and holy crap throughout the home buying process they need copies of all sorts of crap because of the Patriot Act)got there me and wife signed papers and they asked for both of our ID's then they asked for a second ID from me (as I was the borrower on the loan) they said something like do you have your social (I didn't) but I did have my CHL I didn't say anything about it and handed it to the lady to make copies she didn't seem to make a big hoot about it and came back after a couple of minutes handing me everything back and didn't even mention the CHL we finished up everything and then left she stayed behind to talk to the real estate agent and the lender (wonder if she was like do you know he has a gun, or if she was in on the SD loop and didn't care) anyway, our real estate agent gave us a housewarming gift, a Yankee Candle, a photo album, a bunch of $2 gift certificates to Basken Robins (for the kids) and a 5 little monkey game for the kids, I wasn't expecting it and it was really nice of her. All in all besides the long wait to get approved (as noted in my VA loan rant lol) it was a pleasant experience, and the agent made it much easier for us. Can't wait till Monday now so I can move!

Now the spending started. You will be forever broke. Maybe, till you retire and then your kids college will keep you broke again.

Welcome to the American Dream.
