We purchased quite a bit of jewelry from Jared prior to me getting my CHL, and we still have to go there to have our diamonds cleaned. Last time we went, I knew about the sign, but went anyway. I got out of the car with my wife, and as we approached the door, I made sure there was a salesman looking at us, and told my wife I couldnt go in. When she asked why, I pointed to the sign, and stood outside the door as she proceeded to go in and drop off our jewelry, waiting for a salesman to come and invite me in so I could express my displeasure for their policy. If it wasnt for the fact that we already have a credit account there, and already own several diamonds warrantied by them, I probably wouldnt go back. But, they actually have good prices, and their warranty and customer service is fantastic.fecnik wrote:
That Jared Jewelry store is posted as well.

With ours, it is part of the warranty, and as noted, their warranty and customer service has been fantastic. On a few occasions, my wife has lost a chip diamond, and in one occasion, one of the larger stones, out of her engagement ring. Each time, they gladly replaced it, no questions asked. I lost one of my diamond ear rings (the entire ear ring, not just the diamond) throwing a bag of mulch over my shoulder one day. When I went to Jared and explained what happened, they unfortunately did not have any of that particular ear ring in stock, so I gave them my lone survivor, and they gave me a new pair for 1/2 of what I originally paid, which worked out to about 1/4 of the price of the new pair. The only condition to their warranty is that every 6 months, the jewelry must be brought in to them for cleaning and inspection.CJATE wrote:bigred90gt wrote:and we still have to go there to have our diamonds cleaned.
most any store will clean if you "window" shop while you are there. however this tactic works, so it's not advised.
FYI: Zales, Gordon's Jewelers, and Piercing Pagoda are owned by the same company.budroux2w wrote:Kays and Jared's are owned by the same corporation. There are many other large jewelery retailers that do not post, Zale's is one of them that I have seen, and they are based in Texas.
