"I don't think they should be able to, there's too many people out there who make very irrational decisions, and I don't think most people have the quality and intelligence to carry fire arms on campus," said Jacob Wyers, a WTAMU student

Whether you are for it or against it, right now legislation says you can't. But WTAMU said if the Texas Legislature okay's the idea, it will still not allow students to bring guns on campus.
Metal Detectors and local college rules?
Gus aren't kept off campus now, just not allowed legally inside the buildings.
I chuckled at the guy saying the Federal Govt issues the licenses. And at the guy correcting him saying it was the local Sheriff.
These college people need education.
No wonder online colleges are thriving.
BTW, you guys at A&M College Station, good work, keep it up :thumbs2:

I also like this part.

I didn't know WTAMU had a rocket science program.

Okay. Okay. Devil's advocate time. Might he have been referring to school policy? Could this still end up being like our employers, where we cannot be prosecuted, but can still lose our jobs? Could a student still be expelled for violating a school's policy, but not face criminal charges? I hope that is taken care of in the law.

Good point. If it was legal to carry, but I was going to be expelled or fired for doing so, that would probably keep me from doing it. That's something I hadn't considered them trying... :totap:

Edited to add: And as someone from the area, trust me, WT isn't exactly a "rocket scientist" type of place.... :cheers2:

When I stopped by, the "Yes" (for CC on campus) was 89% and the "No" was 11% with 908 votes.

As long as colleges gets public funding the law can force them to comply if mendated to do so
If 100% private the may post a 30.06 to object
