Kay Bailey Hutchison, FYI, FWIW

This has nothing to do with shooting, but I thought I'd share it with anyone who might find it of interest.
I recently sent e-mails to both Texas Senators, Cornyn and Hutchison. I made a suggestion about Social Security stuff. The specifics are not important.
A couple days later (yesterday) I got a response from Senator Hutchison. I expected it to be the typical "We appreciate your input" non-answer, but was, very happily, wrong.
The note was fairly long and explained several things about the topic. At the end it said they would keep my suggestion 'in mind' when Congress considers SS stuff. I was impressed by the length, the detail, and, mostly, by them taking the time to respond in that way. :tiphat:
I have not yet heard from Senator Cornyn.
Thanx,
TraCoun

By the time I got my last form-letter reply from Sen. Cornyn (about 2 weeks ago), I forgot what I had contacted him about! I just now remembered - the S. Korean M1 debacle.

I sent them, along with my representative, letters concerning SS stuff also. While all responded with lengthy political rhetoric concerning laws and the CPI, neither answered my question of why Congress and government employees get annual raises if the CPI doesn't warrant an increase to SS earnings.

Geez, I sure hope we have better choices in the next election.

KBH must have time on her hands these days, and maybe wondering what the next election will bring.

I think it is going to bring retirement, either voluntary or electorally-induced. Unless the Rs are going to ride another wave in 2012 to unelect President Obama, then she may stay in office.

She does need to step aside and let us send a dedicated conservative in her place.
