Clean/Lube an AR that hasn't been shot?

Hi guys,

I bought my very first AR a couple months back, and promptly left the country for work.... Before I left, I took it apart, cleaned, and generously lubed all of the bolt & carrier bits. I also cleaned/lightly lubed the bore. It got put to bed and has sat their patiently for me to return.

I plan to take it to the range this Saturday to finally get some trigger time. Should I do anything before then since it's sat for a couple months?

Thanks!

Run a dry patch or two through the bore and shoot it.

Yep, clean out the bore and just bring some oil/lube to the range in case you need it. I've never had an issue running an AR semi-dry but any issues you run into can probably be resolved with some oil/lube on the BCG.

Like stated, run a patch down the barrel and bring plenty of loaded mags to the range.
