HOUSTON - A Texas teenager is leading the fight to allow 18 to 20-year-olds in our state to legally carry guns.
James D'cruz of Lubbock filed a lawsuit in federal court challenging the law barring those under 21 from carrying concealed weapons in public.
In the lawsuit, D'cruz says the law is in direct violation of the Second Amendment which protects the people's right to bear arms.
The teenager has already won the support of the National Rifle Association who is also mentioned as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
As you can imagine, the lawsuit has people talking: Some for it and some against it.
Jim Pruett, owner of a local gun store and community activist Quanell X were on our 9 p.m. newscast to chat about the issue.
