Weather in New York Attitude

Just watching the news and chuckling, not laughing about the weather in New York, but laughing at people complaining that "the city government hasn't fixed it"

In the 1800s, when people lived on a farm house, 40 miles from the nearest neighbor's farmhouse .... who did they blame for not cleaning up the snow?

Sure, it's inconvenient ... stock up on food before winter comes ... or order pizza delivery <grin>, you chose to live up yonder.

If it gets too cold, c'mon down, bring tools, clean up some hurricane debris.

Just amused at peoples beliefs/world views today.

Maybe Obama needs to appoint a "weather czar" so things like that won't happen in the first place.

No need for government intervention, mother nature will take care of getting rid of all the snow. ;-) .

Yeah, true, but they should blame the Energy and Environment Czar and Climate Czar , see ... if they had wind powered energy, them fan blades mighta blown the snow out to sea them 2 must not be communicatin' well

May need to report them to the Government Performance Czar and Green Jobs Czar before it becomes a health issue and the Health Czar has to get involved.

I'm not sure how to do that .... guess I'll call the Information Czar, if I can't get a good answer, I'll call the Intelligence Czar to see if they can send her some and the Pay Czar to get her pay level re-evaluated

Particularly with all that global warming.... You wouldn't think the snow would last more than a couple of hours. "rlol"

At least the weather has not yet become a class-issue between the have's and the have-not's.

That's what they get for complaining about global warming. :evil2:

Sure it has. When the climate aristocracy fly private jets to tropical islands and then take armored SUV limos to a conference where they blather about telling the rest of us what we must do without.... that is a class-issue between the have's and have-nots. I trust that you were engaging in a little irony.

Just an observation, if I where forced to pay the astronomical taxes that they pay, I would probably expect prompt and efficient city services too.

I just thank the good Lord I live in Texas.

Actually I never looked at it that way. How extremely ironic in more ways than one.

Turns out to be more to the story. Evidently the city bosses (i.e., the unions) decided to make the situation worse than it was, as a protest against recent budgets and layoffs.

I think if you live in a city and pay the taxes, yes you have a right to expect the city government to make sure the streets get plowed expeditiously. Perhaps if Bloomin' Idiot spent more time at his real job, i.e. making sure basic city functions worked, instead of trying to quash trans-fats and the 2nd Amendment, he wouldn't look like such an idiot now. The fact that the union saw a chance to screw him (and the rest of NYC) doesn't relieve him of the responsibility to prepared for both the snow and misbehaving city employees (especially since he knew they were cranked about budget cuts).

I feel awful about one woman's baby and the other woman's mom, but I sure hope the silver-lining to this is that it torpedoes Nanny Bloomer's political career.

Didn't Nanny Bloomer just get re-elected by the same people who are complaining about the city's response to Al Gore's weather?

Yes in 2009, by approx 50% to 46%. He might not have fared as well if this snowstorm had happened first.

However, I was thinking of his national ambitions. I think he seriously wanted to make a run at President.
