A BG armed with a handgun has again been killed by a Houston resident armed with a long barrel.

This was a residential knock at the door and hide, then when the door opens, the BG barges in and holds, in this case a girlfriend at gun point. Boy friend in another room grabs rifle and kills intruder in his tracks.

Apartment complex is gated and has 24 hour security. Interesting that other resident's responded that they were going to arm themselves.

however the officer in the video says it was a pistol

Apparently the BG didn't know that the sheeple who make such good victims in other states are in much shorter supply in Texas.

He won't be making that mistake again.

He committed a terminal error in the victim selection process.

One can only imagine how the vic's GF felt being in the line of fire. Especially if it WAS a scattergun. Bet the relationship doesn't last?

Police said the man was in another room when he heard the commotion between his girlfriend and the Valencia-Mejia.
Valencia-Mejia pulled the girlfriend's hair and pointed a pistol at her head, detectives said.
Investigators said the man used a rifle to shoot Valencia-Mejia, killing him at the scene.

I think she's ok with it.

Regardless of the type of long gun, I'll bet it was memorable to be on the downrange side of the muzzle flash and that close to the impacting projectile.

She'll never look at that scene played out in action movies the same way again.

Scatter gun is such an ugly term.

At the ranges found inside an apartment, the spread from buckshot in a defensive long arm would be about the size of your fist or so, max.

The nice thing about this story....The thing that makes me feel all cozy inside is...I dont have to worry about this criminal ever breaking into my home.

I'm betting if you were on the down-range side of it you would have a different opinion. I know I would!

Having even a well-aimed load of buckshot fly past you on it's way to dispatching the BG would still be an unnerving experience, to say the least.
