JMO.
I think open carry probability is about 30%.
It would be more except Campus carry is a hotter topic and I don't
think they can both pass the same year. I would like to see it happen but I just do not see
it all in the same year.
I would like to see them pass as much as possible this session. I just think it is not probable.

I was just curious.I wouldn't use it,I'd rather it be a surprise to the bad guy.I have a friend though is really wanting it.Him and I have had several arguments(debates) over this.

I would like to see it a choice to carry either way.
Personally don’t see myself using open carry.
I would like to see it pass to take the onus off of
what unintentional or intentional exposure might have occurred.
If they removed the penalty for exposure which I never really understood anyway
open carry would have little if no interest to me

To be clear,
Even with open carry I think the permit (license) should still be required.

I carried a 1911 openly in Arizona, with no license required, years before the CHL law passed in Texas.
It would be nice to have that option in Texas, but I'm not holding my breath.

when hunting, I carry owb under a hunting jacket. There is no need to conceal and I can do it today on public as well as private land. This is an example where open carry make sense. In addition failure to conceal if repealed in summer is great help, same for motorcycle riders

People talk alot about OC being a liability. Surprising the bad guy.
Can anyone find any stories about a person Open Carrying being singled out as the victim of a crime?
Even if it made me a target, I'd rather be more free than more safe.

I wish there were more people like you and less sheeple. God bless you.
The reason why we have airport rape-scanners and gropers is because there's too many sheeple. The reason guns are virtually banned in Cali, Dc, NY, and Chicago is because there's too many sheeple. That's why I moved to Texas. More people in Texas. God bless Texas
I don't like open carry and I won't do it, but guess what? I'll support it because;
1. Not having open carry will leave you open to trumped up gun charges. What's "intentional failure to conceal"? Hard to prove that you didn't "intentionally" let the wind blow up your shirt flashing that shiny 1911, huh?
2. I'd also like to be more free than safe. Amen to that.

The stories that do pop-up more frequently than not are those of people in authority reacting to citizen-complaints and levelling charges similar to "brandishing" against lawful open-carriers.
This irks me to no end.

SA man, SA; why were they allowed to get that close? I also think though what we worry about most and is unheard of in reality is the OCr being targeted as the first one shot.
I can think of of a few times when OC is practical. Hunting and fishing which we can do now, clip it on for a quick run, or mow the lawn. (Yes we can carry openly on our property legally but there are to many open ends when it comes to "brandishing" charges by nosy neighbors.) There are several other possibilities but from my frame of reference these are where I MIGHT OC.
No, a permit shouldn't be necessary for ANY carry...permits are an infringement, period. But practically speaking, there is the OC/CC hybrid. Permitted concealed carry and open carry without. I too would be happy if the exposure prohibitions or their penalties were removed but the only real way to do that unambiguously is to legalize OC.
