Come 2012, they'll be in the minority. Then we'll see how they like that. Democrats are nothing if not short-sighted. Why? Because children are all about instant gratification. You didn't see them agitating for this stuff when they held 49 seats instead of 53.

:iagree:

Anything they do (and much much more) can be undone in 2012 if they push this change. Republicans control the House until then, so the risk of truly disastrous legislation is mitigated somewhat. I say let them go ahead, and then the first order of business in 2012 will be to undo Obamacare and all the other stupid crap that was foisted on the American people in the last two years, along with a complete reinstatement of our constitutional rights.

As an aside, couldn't the minority party still gum up the works by just not showing up for any votes, thereby denying the majority a quorum (assuming there is lesss than a 2/3 majority)?

IMHO, this is a tempest in a teacup.

Dems lost bigtime after the 1994 Assault Weapons ban. Bill Clinton, IIRC,
admitted that the NRA vote against Dems was one of the reasons that Al
Gore lost a squeaker in Florida to W.

I believe that the NRA membership's opinion and political activities
will nip this sort of "anti" gunning in the bud.

Nothing to see here. Just move along. :-)

As much as I would love to see the dems kicked to the curb all together, a bunch of lefty republicans aren't much better. There may be a new group of good ones out there, but you just can't underestimate the repubs' ability to screw the pooch.

I'd argue that they're worse. At least with the Democrats you know what you're getting.
