Steps to applying for TX CHL for out of state residents

I am currently an official Wisconsin resident, living in Texas for school purposes. (WI drivers license) I took a CHL class here in TX a little while ago, but I am still trying to determine the process for applying for my CHL as an out of state resident. The instructor at the course gave us all the forms we needed for resident application, but did not know what was required for me. Is there any instructions or sites that outline this process?
I have done some digging around online, but all I have managed to determine is the fact that I will need to submit a color copy of both sides of my drivers license. Is all the rest the same as a normal application or is there a different form that I will need?
Thank you for your time and advise.

Your application is exactly the same as for a Texas resident resident, with the exception that you also need to submit a color copy of your driver's license.

So: application, photos, signature card, fingerprints, notarized affidavits (unless you applied online), CHL-100 (class completion form), and copy of your DL.

Oh, and $140

Thank you gentlemen, great help. Soon to add one more responsible (Lord willing) CHL holder to TX.

When I did mine, Texas DPS also wanted local (out of state) contact info for the background check. City PD, County SO and County revenue/tax office. I'm not sure if that's still the case (probably not for the tax office) but I wanted to toss that out, just in case.

Be sure to include both the front and back of your out of state ID on those color copies.
