Do you think I'm far enough away to be safe?

I thought the same thing when my step-daughter got her license. It's been a couple of years and no one has come to harm.
Congrats to your daughter.

Did you get her a new phone to text from while she is driving?

It's too dangerous to text from a phone while driving.
She needs a full size laptop.

Seems like yesterday when my daughter got her permit. But all in all, I think I'm out of her driving range.. for now!

I still refer to my first outing with my youngest daughter driving as the "Death Ride". There is at least one bicyclist and and a couple of kids who are blessed to be alive today!!

With an iPhone, she can take pics of herself driving and post them online, while running a stop sign.

I would rather take my chances on the roads that your daughter is on than with the Koreans over here. Talk about horrible driving. They do not need distractions to make them horrible drivers, its in their genes.

And yet, oddly, due to the wording of our local ordinance, I can type or play video games all I want while driving, as long as I don't have a wireless connection at the time.

Thanks to all for the encouragement. She passed and we went driving on small streets and back roads for about an hour. She did very well - better than I thought she would.
I have actually been taking her out to our church parking lot every now and again for a few years now. I am a firm believer in developing the neural pathways and motor skills early. But I didn't know how well it would payoff without an actual yellow line and an actual ditch - lol.

I have a friend back home who made an interesting comment after her first wreck. She had her permit and was driving with her dad and ran the car into a ditch. When she got home her mom laid into her a bit. She looked at her mom and said "Mom, relax. I only did it once."
