I don't own one, so FWIW, this is just my impression from the DeSantis photos...

I like that the Sof-Tuck has an adjustable cant...
If my High Noon Hidden Ally had adjustable cant, it'd be perfect (for me)...

If room inside your waistband is tight, you might not like the reinforced opening as it adds thickness. Yes, without reinforcement you sacrifice some ease of reholstering in favor of the slimmer thickness.

I am not a fan of J-hooks, YMMV. All the weight rests on the fabric of your pants.
The J-hook keeps the holster in your pants on the draw.
If I could buy one with a standard hook, I would definitely buy one.
Looks like a good holster... With adjustable cant and tuckable is a double-bonus.

Optics Planet sells most models of the Sof-Tuck for ~$22 with free shipping (I didn't go all the way through checkout, so, don't shoot me if the holster alone doesn't qualify for free shipping, but, looks like it might)

Cheap enough to buy one and try it out... Looks like a good deal if you like the J-Hook.

That's the same Tuck This 2 mounting system hardware, except leather and no spare mag carrier attached.
If it's as good or better than the TT2 I wear daily, should be good, would be better with spare mag carrier.

I have much more expensive holsters, I wear this daily, except mine is for a Glock 26, using a Spare Glock 17+3 extension for a spare 20 rounds.

I recieved mine the other day.Today I went to a mall,and walked completley around it.I am carrying a 3in Kimber CDP.I put the clip on the holster right in front of the 3:00 belt loop on my jeans,and it worked just fine.You can also move the mount and make it crossdraw.Not a bad deal for tha money.

I've got this one that I've carried a Walther PPK/S in - very comfortable and concealable.

I bought one for a 2" J-frame intending to use as crossdraw, but the slot doesn't allow the adjustment shown on the enclosed illustration for crossdraw.

The limit of adjustment is true vertical and not the rearward cant shown.

I called Desantis to report the issue and was told they would send a redesigned bracket. It arrived Saturday, and while more compact, does nothing to address the range of adjustment.

Otherwise, I find no fault with hoster. I cannot say whether this holster for different firearms would have the same issue.

I've been using a Tucker Cover Up and will continue to do so. It only has one screw which loosens and allows the holster angle to shift. It was the two screws that convinced me to try the Desantis.

i use this one with my glock 32. very very comfortable. i usually wear it at 8 o clock....not for carry though but around the house in preparation for my CHL which should be here in about 3 weeks from what the wait time is at the moment.

it is also very comfortable on the small of the back with a slight cant for easy and quick display of the weapon.

my other holster is a galco matrix m7x which is an OWB. it is designed for a 1911, but i carry my Kahr CW9 in it with no problems. the gun is thin enough to not print at all when i have a t-shirt on.

when my plastic comes in, i will probably look for either A) bigger pant size to accommodate the G32, or use the soft tuck with the kahr- it is a little loose, but IWB it gets in there snug.

Dangerous holster.

When I was new to concealed carry, I wore a DeSantis "Tuck This" holster that has the same adjustable cant mechanism. That adjustable cant mechanism is not robust enough, and will eventually loosen or fail (it only takes one screw to loosen). When that happens, you can find the front of your pistol rotating down into your pants. I had it drop my gun down the front of my pants. Since that time, I have heard of many others on internet forums sharing the same problem with this holster.

I am also aware of reading at least one case where the guy went to grab at his handgun as it was rotating around and then falling down his pants. He apparently grabbed enough of the trigger through his pants, caused a negligent discharge, and shot himself.

Run away from this holster.

The first version of Tuck This used 1 screw, I've never had a problem (daily for a year) with the new 2 screw version Tuck This 2, but as I said, my extended mag holds on my pants top, and even without a mag, mine wouldn't rotate without both screws loosening, I do almost overtighten the screws, but in a year, no loosening, I also use the Sticky back Velcro on top of the clip, the clip is a J-hook which goes under the belt, and my comp-tac belt has Velcro sewn in.

I really have not tried the Sof-Tuck (no mag carrier) because I like the spare mag carrier on the Tuck This 2, which helps hold position,

I have a 'Tuck This 2' as well for my 239. Works okay. Not as comfortable as I'd like. But it works okay for an inexpensive holster. It is kind of difficult to reholster given the lack of mouth reinforcement. But for the price it's okay. No wait for one. But I'm wanting a leather IWB holster instead.

Should anyone, other than myself, be interested in using this holster as a crossdraw, what follows is Desantis' response:
