World War Z

Been a while since we had a good zombie thread. This gem is almost 18 months old now viewtopic.php?f=23&t=27079&hilit=zombie+apocalypse" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've never been a huge fan of the genre, but the TV show "The Walking Dead" really hooked me this fall. Then over Christmas break, my brother loaned me his copy of the book "World War Z" by Max Brooks (son of Mel, and author of the "Zombie Survival Guide"). I couldn't put it down, read the whole thing in less than a week. I've read on http://www.imdb.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that a movie adaptation is planned for 2012.
So curious if the rest of you have read the book and which scenes or recollections/stories from the book you think are most worthy of inclusion in the movie. Obviously the "Battle of Yonkers" is a must. And the whole Chinese submarine story is worthwhile. But quite possibly my favorite is the female fighter pilot turned cargo plane pilot who goes down in swamps of Louisiana and is led to high ground and airlift rescue by a friendly civilian "skywatcher" via radio contact - the surprise ending to that story was awesome.
Also if you liked the stories in the book, check out these amateur short stories http://www.talesofworldwarz.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
