12 Year Old Wisdom

My twelve year old daughter and I were doing our weekly visit to the range yesterday and it was business as usual. We had a few different couples next to us shooting together and a couple of families sprinkled in teaching children and other members who had not had the experience of shooting firearms yet. We talked guns with a husband and wife next to us and let them fire a couple of ours and we fired a couple of theirs in return. A typical day with people who enjoy the same past time.

There has been so much in the news about the banning guns and the horror of the Arizona tragedy and she has not been exempt to any of it. So it surpised me when she said, "for guns to be so bad, they sure do bring a lot of people together."

I kind of thought about for a second and realized how true it was. Not a bad observation for a kid...

I love seeing families at the range enjoying their time together. I look forward to taking my little girl and teaching her how to shoot.

It's our father daughter time together and I get the satisfaction of knowing she is learning something very valuable for the future.

I have a young son and another younger daughter that I get to do this with too. Is there anything better?
