Don't Believe Texas is becoming a Blue State?

A poll says if Perry ran against Obama for the presidency in 2012, that the vote in Texas would be a tie.

While many think Texas is a conservative state, folks need to realize just how many liberal Democrats exist in the state. The major Metro areas have a very high percentage of these types. So when it comes to things like open carry and gun rights, there may not be as many supporters state wide as many would like to believe.

I have always suspected that the trend in Texas is to the left. Even more left than I am.

Everywhere is trending left. Texas is just the slowest (right now).
Keep in mind, Perry sucks. He's not a conservative and not a good governor. I don't think the poll result would be the same for an actual conservative and a respected individual not seen as a career politician.
All the career politicians are scumbags.

Well, I guess that settles that.

Just re-read my post.
I may need some therapy... just a little bitter.

red? blue? they are (almost) all the same liars scumbags and thieves there are a few of sound mind on both sides but they are definitely in the minority i do not think in any general election for the next few years texas will go to a Republican while there are liberal hot spots like my home town of austin there is still a whole lot of texas painted bright red

And... The only difference between honesty and bitterness is in the delivery...

Me too, except that I'm a lot bitter with
ALL of 'em.

I think there are a LOT of Texans who are just sick and tired of Perry.
I keep voting against him in the primaries, and for him (grudgingly) in the election.
And if he ran against BHO, I'd vote for Perry and tell all my friends to do so.

perry probably won the last election because of the straight ticket voting.

The liberal media polls 892 Texas voters over 2 days and claims victory for the liberals.
Everyone who thinks this is legit, please raise your hand.
With such a small sample size, you could easily figure out where to poll so you get the results you want.

Perry is great for 2A. A far stronger supporter than any other presidential candidate we'll see. He's not my favorite, but he's been good to gun owners an runs a profitable state.

One need look no farther than the most recent landslide Speaker of the House election (and the one during the 2009 session) to see just how far toward the blue side Texas is moving. Joe Straus is a lot of things---conservative ain't one of 'em.

The actual poll can be found
here. There were 18 questions in the poll. Would you spend that amount of time listening to questions and keying in responses? Not me. That means that I and others like me would not be included in the polling sample. You can also eliminate everybody in the
Do Not Call registry.
Polls are just like statistics. You can word them in such a way as to get your intended result or define the polling sample. This poll is a sample of 892 people. Most polls are only a tiny fraction of the people. Polls such as this one that are normally, robocall generated and ask lots of questions. Does this make a difference? Then they publish an error rate of +/-
X. Why, can they not do math? Look at this item from the same pollster:
If PBS is the most trusted, then why cannot they stand on their own? We continue to pour taxpayer money into this leftest machine. NBC? Are they the only traditional network with a male anchor? Not implying anything, just asking..................
I do not put a lot of faith or trust in most polls. But, hey, that's just me.

You may be bitter, but it doesn't change the fact that career politicians are mostly scumbags.
