Retired
AS of last night, 30 Jan, I am officially retired from 36 yr in the Pastoral Ministry. 1st church was Bethsaida Bapt Church in Ida La. Nov of 1974.
I will still Supply Preach for any church that needs someone on Sunday, preach a Revival, Homecomming or any special service.
I will now be able to do more work in the 2A battle at the grassroots level.
With less desk time I may not have as much time on the board during the day but will probably be more regular & predictable.
As silly as some of my goals may seem to some, this old man wants to get his Wally Walk Certification. That will have to make me a better Instructor.

Congratulations! indeed.
I'm jealous too. My goal is to live long enough (another 13 months) to retire.
Your goals are your goals - it does not matter if anyone else thinks they're silly.
Have fun!
Best regards,
Andrew

I've been retired (no job) seven years next month. FWIW, I still get up every morning, except now I get up when I want to instead of when someone else expects me to.
As said above:
Conratulations and enjoy your new schedule.

Congratulations LT, you deserve a well earned rest.
However, while you may slow down on your pastoral duties, I know that you will still be busy doing the Lord's work as often as needed.

Way to go LT!

I retired almost two years ago and I'm busier now than before, the difference is I'm doing what I want to not what someone else wants me to do - - - well, except for what Mrs. MoJo wants.

That is where I will be too. Teaching, grandteens, one vehicle at church instead of both of them, 2A work, stuff round the place, out w/ the wife of 42 yrs last night too.
We got hoome & I aske her if that was a good enough Aniversary Presant this yr.
She smilled & said sure is.
BTW - She is still asleep & we went to bed about 1015.
Pastors wives have almost the same schedule.

Congratulations, LT!
I know it probably felt like this day would never come (more so as it got closer), but it did.
It will likely take some significant time to adjust to the new lifestyle. There's an emotional component to this that is often more intense than many folks expect, so don't be surprised if you sometimes feel sad or anxious for no identifiable reason. It will pass as you refill your time commitments with new tasks of your choosing.
God bless!

Congratulations LT! I am not sure anyone really "retires" from the ministry, so I imagine the good Lord will soon be guiding you to your new "job". Good luck!
