Do you know if the Alumagrips will clear an ambi safety?

They are not cut for an Ambi-safety, but they should work on a Kimber style ambi. I can put it on my Tactical Pro and test it out. I originally bought these for my full size Custom Classic, but ended up putting VZ Aliens on it.

Okay, no joy for me then. Good looking grips though.

I put the grip on my Tac-Pro, and the safety was funtional, but when switched off, it rides right on top of the grip. I will let you decide if that is an issue, but it seemed OK to me. I attached a picture so you can see.

Most 1911s with an ambidextrous safety have a little tab on the right side safety that fits under the grip.
Kimber uses what I believe is called a King's style ambi safety that doesn't have that tab, so you don't necessarily need grips cut for an ambi safety.
Creating clearance for the ambi safety is easy with a dremel tool. It doesn't even have to be pretty since it's on the underside of the grip where it doesn't show.
