Obviously there is more to this story than info provided in the article and lawsuit text, but how can things get so out of hand with police?

That sounds horrible. I can only imagine how much worse it could have been for her if she had a gun or a CHL.

I can hear it now at trial:

"Here's photos of her injuries, it doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to know Ms Cullingford was done wrong."

Sounds like a decent case in my layman's opinion ...
False arrest
Excessive force
Illegal search
etc etc etc
how can things get so out of hand with police?

I feel sorry for the people of Houston because they'll suffer the consequences, but I hope this lady get's a big settlement or decision and those that did this to her lose their jobs.
