I don't have the Model 97, but I do have Model 982. It seems very well made and half the price of the comparable equipped 870.

I used a Norinco clone of the 1897 pump in Cowboy Action Shooting for several years. It was a very robust weapon that never gave me any trouble whatsoever. Bear in mind that I used AA Target loads, so it might be different if I had used really powerful loads, but who want to run through hundreds of full power loads a month. It was better looking (and a whole lot less $$) than some old used 1897's I found at gun shows.

I have one too, very pleased with it. Keep in mind it will fire if you keep pulling the slide back so be sure you release the trigger after each shot. Looks neat too. I have a Winchester but why shoot that when a Norinco is $300 or so?
