I was watching the TV series Pawn Stars tonight on the History Channel. I would sware to it that one of the other employees
in the background was packing OC . The episode was the one (a rerun) where a young lady was trying to sell an old Gibson
mandilyn. I had to pause and rewind and watch it in slow mo. 2-3 times you can see this guy around the front door in the background
and he has a black holister on his hip. I guess since it is private property and all it is good to go, or does Nevada have OC???
Just one of those things that caught my eye, you guys check it out and let me know what you think, they shows reruns of Pawn Stars all
the time so I'm sure it will be on again for sure. I thought this was pretty cool.

...according to the 2010 Traveler''s Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States....Nevada has open carry unrestricted under state law but some cities may attempt to regulate it...some pre-89 laws still restrict and some urban areas "frown" on OC...kinda confoosin' to me...with the high volume of cash and valuables...pawn shops are a good place for OC!!!

...I had friends in Dallas in the early 90s who were both shot up badly in a pawn shop...they had guns all over the place but two guys came in one day and opened up on them at their desks...across a low wall from the store...they survived but sold the shop soon after...I worked a shop for 5 years...carried every day OC..you get a crowd that's not that easily offended...

Open carry is technically legal in Nevada, but if you attempt it in Clark County (Las Vegas, N Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City) you will be arrested for disturbing the peace. When I lived there my CHL instructor was a cop, he said we could try it but we should think about how hot the pavement is before we do because we were just about guaranteed to be proned out on it pretty quickly.

Outside of that area (and maybe Reno too) they are good small town folks to who are not frightened by the sight of a law abiding citizen carrying a gun on their hip.

I was going to say that you don't have to go to Nevada to see open carry in pawn shops. Many in Texas allow/insist their employees OC. It is overlooked, (wink wink) in the same way that OC in gun shops here is overlooked, even though technically not legal.

Technically, the owner could carry legally on premises. However, his authority to allow employees to carry rests on the questionable premise that they are in charge of the property. I know someone will post the exact language.

A friend of mine went to vegas last year and stopped by gold & silver pawn just because of the tv show and he confirmed that they do indeed pack on the premises. He also got a cool pic with chumlee.

...it is legal for a business owner or employee to carry openly or concealed ON HIS PROPERTY under the "his property or property under his control" phrase...that's how they do it...step outside the front door with it and ain't no winkin' goin' on!!!

@ Aggie_engr, thanks for the confirmation! This is a wildly popular show. I wonder if any of the anti gun folks have caught onto this yet. If so, I hope the History Channel will not infringe upon them packing for protection.

Well, they do buy guns on practically half the episodes.

They fire most of the guns, too.

One might assume that they sell the occasional gun as well...

Seems like the antis would have had an issue with that part.

...I miss the little gal who used to work for them...when she showed up...guess she didn't work out.....
