Just saw on GMA this morning Mayor Bloomberg touting his new web site

He is still hard at it

I laughed and face palmed when i opened that page. The main page pleads to congress to (1) create a database of all those ineligible of purchasing firearms and (2) Require background checks for every single gun sale.
(1) already happens with background check and (2) already happens with licensed dealers. It would be interesting to find out what percentage of gun sales in the US are private sales rather than from a licensed dealer. No way to know for sure but I imagine it's not huge.

Let's fix voter checks first. Require actual photo ID and do a NICS check. It's a reasonable restriction.

Reading this makes me sick, more Brady bunch garbage. So nice to see them exploiting another tragedy.

I like that, I really do. I'm going to have to steal this line for later use.
Chas.

I think if you can pass an NICS check you should be allowed to vote twice

If you can show a CHL, you shouldn't have to wait for NICS to approve you before you can vote.

Yep that would be great if someone started a “fixvoterchecks.org” web site and went city to city with petitions.
Of course the place to start would be
New York.

I gotta laugh.
When I open up the website, my computer displays the message "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors".
That's rich.

Well, I now own fixedgunchecks.org and fixedgunchecks.com. Now I just need a couple of mayors to sign up for MAIM (Mayors Against Ignorant Mayors) and I'm all set!
I think I'll start off by redirecting those domains to here

I am still thinking about Mayor Nutter’s statement-
“In Philadelphia, Nutter said, it is easier for children "to get a gun than to go buy a book."”.
Mayor Nutter made a public statement that makes Philadelphia sound as bad as many third world countries. I don’t know how this would look to visitors to Philadelphia but I will never go to or through Philadelphia if at all possible.
If there is any truth at all to his statement, then he needs to take a hard look at the police department. There are laws to prevent children from buying guns and it is a crime to sell or give a gun to a child. It sounds like the police are not doing their job.
Just found something that might explain it.

It is. Although some third world countries have less crime and higher literacy rates.
