In Tomball (Houston suburb) in 1987 a man was found shot to death in his home in the middle of the night. His wife (apparently a former beauty queen and movie star) said at the time she had no idea what happened. She has since moved to Tennessee.

This week a Harris County Sheriff's Office cold case unit obtained an arrest warrant for her, and she was arrested. She is being held on $1 million bond and fighting extradition.

It is truly bizarre how these things come in waves.

In New York today a woman was indicted for kidnapping an infant from a hospital in 1987.

The defendant, who had fertility problems, allegedly kidnapped a 19-day-old baby and raised the child as her own.

The child, now 23, suspected that she was not the biological child of the woman that had raised her, and found her real identity on a site for missing persons.
