So after invading a dive motel room and robbing a woman, apparently one robber's gun discharged and hit his partner.

Karma.

Unfortunately I work within arms reach of this "motel" (I walk past it when going to the hardware store from my work). It goes from crappy rooms at the front of the property to a full blown permanently-installed RV park at the back. You know RV's are "permanent" when they have plywood and corrugated tin sheds attached, and the RVs haven't moved in years... Lots of questionable characters in there.

My 15-year-old niece and I saw that on the news yesterday.

I recall telling her "Looks like he forgot everything he learned in the Gun Safety Course they require criminals to take."

She laughed. "rlol"

This was an planned robbery of an acquaintance as one of the guys was the woman's ex-boyfriend. And sounds like one of the guys failed to follow the rules an keep his booger-hook off the bang switch.

The biggest issue you have in these types of situations is accidentally getting caught in the middle of someone running away from a robbery and if you get in the way of their escape path, they may resort to whatever means necessary to clear the way, including shooting you.
