So about two weeks ago I got my CHL renewal in the mail. It came with someone else on the picture that is not me. All the other information is correct.

Well my issue is I have emailed the CHL office several times and no response to my emails, and I have called and left messages with no response over the past weeks. I even waited on hold for two hours and never got a person.

Does anyone know a way to get in contact with them directly, I am beginning to feel as if they are ignoring me on purpose. Also I have not idea if my imagine is on someone else CHL, or if my information has been compromised.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice. I was referred to this forum from my normal sandbox.

It is only February, but you probably have a lock on the award for the "Most Original First Post by a New Member" for this year at least.

Unfortunately I do not have an answer for you, short of sending it back with signature receipt required. I wouldn't do that tho until I spoke with a human first.

Maybe try call ing your state reps office and complaining. They seemed to get action from DPS back when there was a big backlog. The reps are kinda busy right now tho, with the start of the legislature.

I don't suppose your previous CHL is still unexpired, is it? Hope so so you can still legally carry.

Thanks for the reply!! My CHL expired the day I go my renewal in, unfortunately. So I have not been carrying for the past two weeks.

I might try to contact my state rep. That is what I was planning on doing, but I was told to give to forum a try for some advice first.

can you scan the pic?...maybe that's why mine is taking so long. Is it a handsome devil with a beard wearing a red polo shirt?

Sorry, I chuckled when I read the title of this thread.

I've called them twice in the last month, both times between 9am-11:30am and received someone in 15 minutes the first time, and 12 minutes the second time (many days apart).

Renewal? I didn't get that the first time I read your post. I thought it was your first time. Wow that's weird! I wonder why someone at the DPS felt the need to actually change the picture. I hope they can at least look at your first license or maybe you can send them a scan.

Thanks I will try to call them earlier in the morning. I have been calling from 1230-1700 with no answer.

Seriously the lack of response may be from budget cuts. My wife attempted to get in touch with TREC for a couple of months - phone calls resulted in messages about high call volume, somedays they just never answered, unanswered voice mails and unanswered emails. She actually did get in touch last week, but they weren't much help except to say they are way behind due to budget cuts.

Puma, yeah budget cuts could be the reason. It is just frustrating to not be able to carry, and have to keep calling and sending emails hoping they will respond back to me when I did not mess this one up lol

I did too. When I got my CHL photo it was a long haired hippy lookin guy with a gray beard and all you can see is hair and no face. My Driver's license has a guy that looks 12 years younger, haircut and expensive suit and tie; looks like he works at a lawyers office...... unfortunately, they are both me. Don't feel lonesome. It has happened before. Saw another thread on it here a couple of years ago. Guy had waited MONTHS on it, and when it arrived, picture of some other dude.

It's one of the reasons I have students print name and DL on the back of photos. You might wanna think about getting more pics made and ready to mail to them (and redo the downloadable form - "complete in black ink only") as it might take a small miracle for them to locate the previous one.

Grey, I was a renewal so I did not have to send them any pictures this time, they were supposed to use my last picture. I have no idea why they changed it. Thanks for the reply. Don't pictures now after 1 March have to signed by people that do your finger prints, and only at certain approved places?

If a renewal, then it should be pretty easy for them to locate. Until a year or so ago, fingerprinter and student had to sign the back, but not any more. Picture the electroninc fingerprint people take is supposedly for their id useif ever needed, but not necessarily transmitted to DPS for use on license. Not sure if a fact, but I believe I read somewhere they will eventually use the same pic as on DL.
