The story:

Summary:
Gang member steals car and leads deputies on long chase. Deputies stop him. He attacks one deputy, disarms him and shoots him three times, killing deputy. Another police officer shoots gang member three times killing him.
Family's attorney demands settlement or will sue for $250K plus punitive damages for chasing the deceased and not doing CPR or otherwise giving aid to the little thug after shooting him.
Then the attorney emails the sheriff and offers to drop the suit if the sheriff apologizes, fires the deputies, and "corrects" his office's procedures.
Sheriff said no.
But what really makes this story interesting is the open letter to the family that a local newspaper guy published in the Greeley Gazette.
He really nails it. Go read it.
