Somebody needs some training.

"When questioned by authorities, Mr. Jones stated he had taken his Glock .40 handgun from the glove compartment of his truck. He was walking to the house when he tripped and fell, then accidentally shot himself in the leg just above the knee.

Jones yelled to his wife for help. Aleisha was upstairs bathing their young son when she heard her husband's call for help. When she arrived on the screened porch, she tried to secure the gun but her son beat her to the gun.

After attempting to take the gun from the child, a round was fired. Aleisha was hit in the left side of her neck."

As good a story to prove you should carry in a secure holster as I have ever heard.

That must have been a sight to behold - 2 adults bleeding all over the place and a naked kid holding a gun.

Glockleg and Glockneck in one incident?! Sheesh.

Here's the game plan:
1. The parents are no longer Glock eligible.
Point and shoot is supposed to be for the bad guys, not the Glock owners.
2. Buy a gun with a manual safety.
3. Buy a proper holster.
4. Parents must learn and obey "The 4 Rules"
5. Children must learn and obey "The 4 Rules".

Class dismissed.

Another Glock 40 shooting people in the leg...wonder how qualified the owner was? Was he the most qualified in the room?

You don't have to be qualified. You only have to be "professional".

Sheesh, this is exactly the type of person I'm afraid of shooting next to at the range. I hope they are more careful in the future. Perhaps they should either get the proper training, or sell their handgun. Yeah +1,000,000 on putting any gun into a proper holster.

I agree, but just keeping your finger off the trigger when walking/falling would be a start.

While that would definitely be a plus, it still doesn't protect the trigger from accidentally getting caught on something and firing. Even with the safety mechanism in a Glock trigger, anything that resembles a finger could activate it. A proper holster to cover the trigger guard would be a much more secure method of protection.

Generally, this is true, but nothing will stop goofy people from shooting themselves, they always find a way. Sheeeesh....!

It is foolish to think people can be protected from their own foolishness.
