Hello all -
I'm looking for a good lock box for my night stand in the bedroom. Something I can easily get open if needed. I've seen the Microvault by GunVault...
http://www.gunvault.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Any other suggestions?

Hey those are on sale for 80 bucks right now. I have been considering these and I decided to go ahead and do it for $60 off the normal price. I would say go for it if I was you only 3 days left.

You can buy one on Amazon for $83.
I have no personal experience with Gunvault, but I would suggest reading some reviews before making a decision to purchase this product. There are a few reviews on Amazon. Some of them aren't so good.

May just be me, but I'd never let my life depend on a fingerprint recognizing type gun safe.

This version is not finger print recognizing, though they do make one. It is a "keypad" combination lock with a keyed backup. I do agree, I would never go with a biometric gun safe either.

Some of the reviews on the "keypad" version didn't give me a warm fuzzy either.

Yeah I noticed that, but the overall rating was pretty good 4 stars overall. I tell you what, when mine arrives, I will post a review of it.

I have the bi-level version if this product with the finger wells and keypad. It has performed flawlessly for me over and over. I have practiced keying in the combo in the dark and light and both are about the same speed. The best part of this box is the flexibility of the programmable combination. It lets you press singular keys in sequence, or you can program it to open by pressing combos of singular keys and multi-key entries. Mine also has a tamper indicator and a lockout feature if the wrong code is put in a certain number of times. I have never had any issues putting in the combo, so i have never had to deal with being locked out of the box, but it has a manual key override if this happens or the batteries die. I bought mine 2 years ago and have not had to change the batteries yet. Oh, and you can silence the key press sound for stealthy operation. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. Let me know if you want any more info.
