WTB: .357 snubby beater

I'm looking for a back-up cheap revolver. Any working condition considered (I like projects). Prefer J-frame or a 2.5" K.

Prefer Central TX as I won't be in Dallas or Houston anytime soon. 2-300$ would be ideal.

Was just at GT Distributors and they had the beater of all beaters S&W Model 60 chrome/nickel J-frame (someone had gone to town on this gun with a grinder or something trying to "improve" it somehow I guess :headscratch ). Fairly sure it's a .38 not .357, but it was under $200 and comes with pretty pearl grips :thumbs2:

Even better, I was tempted to buy it myself because I used to own one, was a good condition Charter Arms Undercover .38 for $149. Great, inexpensive little snubbie.

I'll swing by at lunch and check it out. I'm leaning towards .357 as I'd prefer to have the option, even if I do just use .38+ in it.

GT had a couple of 400$ J-frames at the used gun sale two weeks ago, all .38. This must have come in since then.

The above link is this week's Academy ad. If you didn't mind moving up from a 2" to a 3"
barrel, you can pick up a brand new Rossi in .357 for $249.99.

It's in your basic price range and it would not have to be a "project" gun.

FYI / SIA

I saw that and I've held the gun. 3" though is just too much to pocket, which is the intention for this purchase.

I've also got a 10$ coupon for Academy to use this week.

Thank you AustinRealtor. Stopped by GT on the way home (actually on my way home). Picked up a mildly abused S&W model 60 for a once in a lifetime price.

Thanks.

You're welcome. Glad that works for you. Be sure to post some "before and after" pics if you're going to do some fix up work on it.
