Interview multiple sources for your stories

But there are two lessons to draw from the uproar:
1) Keep yourself and your views out of news stories, and
2) Make sure your stories are balanced. Talk to people with differing and opposing viewpoints.
In reading your blogs, I see story after story that rely on only one source.
This is lazy reporting. Not only does it result in dull, shallow stories, but your stories often are written from one point of view with the writer seeming to take their source’s word as gospel.

I wish every article quoting John Woods and Colin Goddard also interviewed
Wayne Chiang
Ken Stanton
W. Scott "Douva" Lewis
Chase Jennings
Charles Cotton
But, I'm daydreaming ....

I was taught this in journalism class - back when I was a reporter for my junior high school newspaper.

I believe you're confusing "Journalism" with what qualifies as "Reporting" (or "News") these days. On the best of days, they're merely adjacent to each other.

I guess I am really confused. I thought that they were the same thing.
