Hmmm not sure whats up today, I guess it is beat up on gun owners day.

Nothing in the story seems to be about the headline. Just about being anti gun. To bad the student hurt at Virginia Tech did n't work in the other direction and see that having gun free zones means your a sitting duck and that more needs to be done for the insane.

"In the House, New York Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, whose husband was killed in a 1993 mass shooting on a Long Island train" Hmmm arn't guns already illegal in New York, another gun free zone. She is a big anti gun advocate. BTW she also voted against a ban on late term partial birth abortions. She is also against the death penalty for criminals. So I guess to her some human lives are more valuable than others.

All told, an estimated 2,405 Americans have been shot and killed since Tucson,
Does this figure include our military? Criminals who were shot when people defended themselves and when police had to shoot them?
I think someone here once said "Statistics are like bikinis, they hide more important things than they reveal."

Cat walked across his calculator and it looked good enough.

Someone probably took some old Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data , multiplied number of people shot per day times number of days. In other words, they probably made it up.
