The above link is to page 1 of an 8 page (online) article from the 3/31/2011 edition of Rolling Stone
magazine. I have the hardcopy magazine and this piece is 12 pages long in hardcopy.
The story is a fascinating tale of an 18 year old man and his friend, from Miami, Florida.
One man's relative had sold Kevlar vests, Glocks, Sigs, and Colts to LEO agencies.
That was the young man's inspiration to create what he intended to be a $10 Billion arms-selling
operation.
Both young men were stoners but managed to snag multi-million dollar deals from the Pentagon.
One was to supply the ANA (Afghan National Army) with AK-47 ammo. The ammo was up to 40 years
old, Red Chinese in origin, and much of it was rusted and corroded. Nothing you'd want to put in
any gun. It was repackaged so that the Afghans wouldn't know it was originally from Red China.
I haven't read the whole article yet myself, but wanted to make this available for everyone on the board.
Somewhere along the line, the Penatagon got wise to these stoners and "turned on them", but I don't yet
know in what fashion.
It's too bad the online version only has 2 pictures because the hardcopy has more photos of the young stoners
with large weapons at a Paris gun show, a partner of theirs shot under mysterious circumstances, a Mormon
"money man", and a cache of rusty AK ammo and some RPG's at a munitions dump in Afghan.
Enjoy.
