What's interesting about this story is that I was hearing it reported on Fox & Friends this morning while getting dressed for church. One of the show's hosts said he had posted an online survey, before the details of the story were reported, asking viewers if they could guess what state this was taking place in. He said the responses were overwhelmingly choosing Texas as the probable state where this deal would be cooked up. I just thought that was pretty amusing. Here we have a national audience on one hand which thinks that in Texas, anything goes when it comes to guns; and on the other hand we have a Texas audience which, for the most part probably thinks that there are too many gun laws.

Kind of ironic.

You gotta love that place but its changing. The elections that are statewide are won by very progressive politicos (governor, senators) because the few population centers are peopled by west coast and east coast transplants but the house districts are almost solid red.

I spend summers not too far from the Hamilton Radio Shack (in Montana distances its not too far). If my blood was a bit thicker I'd stay there year round but by the end of December the rivers are frozen and even my black lab balks when I try to get her to go outside. I guess I'll remain a reverse-snow bird.

A national audience is probably ignorant of the fact that it's illegal(1) in Texas to openly wear a holstered handgun or a sheathed Bowie knife.

They're also probably ignorant of the fact that Texas has one of the most expensive gun licenses with some of the most restrictive requirements among the shall issue states, and that 20 years ago it was impossible for average Texans to get a license to carry.

Oh, I agree. I just thought the dichotomy of views from outside and inside the State as ironic.

I'd take the Pizza on the grounds that I have no use for a 150 dollar rock to throw at a criminal. Now 50 bucks worth of pizza I can always use that. lol

There was a Dodge dealer in Rockwall, TX giving away a shotgun with every new truck purchased a few years ago.
