I didn't know that the UK still had Gurkhas in its ranks. Neat!

His company commander, Major Shaun Chandler, arrived shortly after and slapped the Gurkha on the back – which made him think he may have been under attack again.

Asked if he might have accidentally fired on his commander, he smiled and said: “I had no ammunition left.”
He never really answered the question, did he? :smilelol5:

One tough soldier/warrior.

Reminds me of the story about a small group of Gurkha’s that were to join U.S. Special forces in a twilight, low altitude jump. Shortly before the assault…everyone was briefed.

It was explained that they would need to tightly secure their weapons and other gear…since they would be jumping from 1,000 feet. Upon hearing this…the Gurkha’s assembled for a quick meeting. They came back and told the SpecOps leader that they were proud to be a part of the mission, but… they wanted to jump from 500 feet.

The leader said NO, because there wouldn’t be time for their parachutes to open.
The Gurkha’s looking somewhat relieved, said….”Well…….if we’re going to have parachutes, then let’s go with the first plan”.
