I realize there is an earlier thread about the initial incident, but pointing to the campus carry application here. So, since some people have accidentally (or on purpose) driven their car into crowds killing people, or into a store, or struck a pedestrian...I guess we should ban cars on campuses too....

I can understand the family suing the gun owner for his negligent discharge, but what does this have to do with campus carry? The shooting happened at a restaurant, not on a college campus.
They're trying to compare apples to oranges here.

Agreed. I can only assume that the claim could be there could be a lot of guns falling out of pockets discharging on a campus.

They came to the SB354 hearing too. It was strictly an emotional appeal.

How about buckets with at least 1 inch of water in them, too? Don't want drunk college kids to drown...

I noticed that.
The Brady Bunch tracked them down, along with the woman who teaches in Arkansas and flew in from visiting her kids in Chicago .... and that weird guy they had on the TV news.

It looks like it worked. A week later and the committee still hasn't let SB354 see the light of day.

I hate to be the rain on anybody's parade but keep in mind that the first priority of elected office holders, even our state legislators, is their own re-election. They will bend with the stronger (majority) breeze.

You make a great point, and it's not too early to start looking for someone to challenge them in the primaries if they don't come through.
