(Texas Land Commissioner is a statewide elected official (one of many) yayyyyy Jerry )

Since County is a subdivision of State, I'd expand that to elected County officials too. Then I'd run for office in a sparsely populated County.

Since taxpayers foot the bill for elected officials, I would expand it to anyone who pays property tax, sales tax, or any other tax in Texas.

I'm so tired of seeing legislators make laws that only apply (or don't apply) to them and there cronies.
