Sure seems like it'd be a lot of trouble to carry a .40 Caliber Glock 26... Barrel replacement, magazine replacement, other bits n pieces... Probably should start with a 27 in the first place.

Yeah, very true first order of business would probably be a slide with a bigger hole for the .40 cal barrel
The 9mm Glock 27 I had was much easier to convert than building a .40 Caliber Glock 26 would ever be.

That Taurus he pictured is pretty, not ideal for conceal-ability imho though..

Didn't say if special book bags would be used ....

I was glad this came up in hearing and the Chairman said "I assure you, they are on their body, even though you say they are only wearing a Tee-shirt and shorts, it's on their body, not thrown into backpacks"

Still, if decriminalized everywhere, but schools were allowed to make "policies" I'd say go ahead, look in my backpack so perhaps I should remain silent from now on, on this point.

Actually, I've concealed a PT-99 quite well in a custom-made knockoff of a Crossbreed SuperTuck. (Mainly, I had it made with a really strong cant so the grip stuck up more and out less.) It's not as comfortable as a thinner gun, but it does hide under a tucked shirt just fine.

FWIW, most college students are on a VERY tight budget. For the cost of a reliable weapon, gun belt, and high end holster the student could buy a very good laptop. I'm sure some will carry, but most won't. I would expect some students will elect for a low end revolver or small automatic. When I was in college (30 years ago...sigh) I knew three women that carried. A teacher with a J frame revolver, a student with her Dad's 32 auto, and another student with a snubby of some kind. The world will be as it is for us... concealed means concealed. No one will know who's CC, and that's the best part IMO.

THIS college student carries a walther pps .40 with a crossbreed supertuck. If they pass CC on campus, it will go with me on a daily basis.

Wow. How many mis-steps can you have in one article, jeez. A couple of those guns are out of a typical college student's budget and one doen't even exist. Very poorly put together list and article in general. The bad guys always carry automatic weapons..lol. Not to mention the writer had know idea what the legislation represented. About the only thing he got right was that Texas will pass concealed carry on campus legislation. On the other hand, Texas is already legal to the point of the new Az law so that was mis-information as well.

I think I'm more concerned about the guy he talked to if that's really the info he gave (in bookbags???) lol, but I'm guessing there was a communication breakdown in parts of the conversation... someone needs to invite that guy to the range and show him a belt and IWB and pocket holsters.

I don't want to read it again but did he happen to say where "Rob the Glock Guru" or whatever he was reffered to as was located? Not that I will ever go there but future reference might be handy some day. Redundancy provided at no charge.

I think you would have to replace the slide to convert from 26 to 27. It's easy to go down in size but not so easy to go up.
