CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
A bill allowing concealed guns to be carried into establishments where alcohol is served has been approved in the Ohio Senate.

Under the legislation, the folks with the weapons would be prohibited from drinking any alcohol.

I don't mind this addition to the law at all, personally I think i makes sense and if I go out to a location that is NOT 51% but I even THINK I would have a drink, I disarm prior to leaving the house anyway.

I was part of a huge argument/discussion over this bill at Ohioans For Concealed Carry. The legislature made drinking in a restaurant while armed a felony. Huge overkill that will bite unsuspecting licensees, especially those visiting from other states.

While I do not agree you should drink and carry a gun, if someone did drink while carrying and were no drunk, well, it shouldn't be illegal, but again, I do not mind the addition to their bill, if that is what it took to get it passed. As I personally do not go to bars and would not go to any restaurants, if I could not carry, and I will sacrifice (ok, not much of a sacrifice for me) drinking while carrying.
