Has anybody heard of this group?

I support constitutional carry as it is done in AK and AZ, meaning no license required but one is available for reciprocity purposes. This guy started his blog on March 28 so he's a bit behind the curve for this session. I think I will worry about issues we can get results on this session and not worry about these other issues that should be shelved until the next session.

Looks to be just an individual blogger, not a group. And I agree with G.A. Heath: the blogger is way behind the curve, and evidently doesn't know much about the Texas legislative process. This year, the session convened on January 11, and Friday, March 11, 2011, was the deadline for filing bills other than local bills, emergency appropriations, and bills that have been declared an emergency by the governor.

Our blogger friend started his blog almost three weeks after the deadline to file a bill. He's advocating people write their senators and representatives to ask that a bill be entered, when there this absolutely nothing any lawmaker can do this session to introduce a new bill. The time for him to start his blog is summer, 2012. Meanwhile, he needs to scrap the notion of writing lawmakers about this.

Yes, I do realize the time has passed to file new bills. However, irritating lawmakers is exactly what needs to be done. I also believe there could be a special session. The Constitution Carry For Texas issue could possibly be added to the agenda then. So keep those emails, faxes, phone calls and letters going to them. Remind them that this is a vital issue for us as law abiding Texans and a right we want to reclaim.

I'm disappointed that he wants to irritate lawmakers. And there's no way a special session will be called to pass constitutional carry.

I posted the first comment on his blog site about his timing being off, and am very disappointed with his published response saying that "...irritating lawmakers is exactly what needs to be done."

He illustrates again his unfamiliarity with the Texas legislative process. What achieves 2A legislation is planning, preparation, and a united front of supporters. Uninformed individuals urging that we irritate our legislators is the wrong way to go...not to mention pointless.

At least Mr. Haynes’ rhetoric isn’t the vitriol we saw leading up to and during the 2009 legislative session. I wish him the best, and hope he decides to align his efforts with an organization like the Texas Firearms Coalition or the TSRA.
