TRAIN ROBBERY & GUNFIGHT near Austin

On Saturday April 23, 2011 there will be a Train Robbery and gunfight.

Train robbery will be on the Hill Country Flyer out of Cedar Park on the way to Burnet between 10:00 A.M. and Noon.
Old Western Gunfight at Burnet in "Old West Town" near the Train station at 1:30
(If you are on the train, and get "robbed"... "donations" benefit Burnet County Triad ... a non-profit which assists Elderly and Disabled)

I have no affiliation with the above, nor with Burnet County Gunfighters, but
for more info (or to make donations) 512-756-8080
Also, I thought it might be good to post this here, in case it "took anyone by surprise"
please do not stop the train robbery

BTW, contrary to the beliefs of the John Woods followers, I don't feel it necessary to run towards gunfire with my gun drawn every weekend when I hear the old-west gunfight a couple blocks away. I usually just continue whatever yard work or grocery shopping I was doing before I heard shots fired.

When I was a kid my mother took me to a place called "Frontiertown" near Lake George in upstate NY. One of the featured attractions was a train ride and the associated robbery. As usual I was armed with my trust Mattel (not a Fanner 50, this was earlier) and boy was the teenager who was portraying one of the train robbers surprised when I pulled it from my pocket and pointed it in his face and told him to leave my mother alone.

Just found a web site and a whole bunch of videos on You Tube dedicated not only to "my" Frontier Town, but several others.

Might take a friend to see the gunfight today at 1:30 p.m ... he's on his way over now.
(He's the only deacon in our church who isn't a CHL yet)

We had one for years and years down here. It was named for Harlingen before it was named Harlingen. The original name (and of the Old West town) was Six Shooter Junction.
