currently have glock g33, kinda bulky, when i carry it. may have a chance to get good condition p239 in 40cal. what would you guys do? stick with glock, or get the sig? ive always wanted a sig, just never could afford one. will be primary ccw weapon in iwb holster. im one of the fat boys if you know what i mean, so looking for something that doesnt pinch the love handles. i like the g33, ammo is expensive though. looking forward to answers.

Sig 239, despite carrying fewer rounds in it's single-stack mag, is actually larger overall than a G33. It's equivalent in size to a midsize Glock 19/23/32
If you want something thinner than a subcompact Glock 26/27/33 then look at these:
Walther PPS 9mm or .40 (not same as old-design PPK; built with Glock-style action)
Kahr MK, K, PM, P, CW series - all single stack available 9mm & .40
Taurus Slim 709 (9mm) & 740 (.40)
Ruger LC9
Sig P290 (due out soon)

I will say that my primary carry is a Sig P239 in .40 and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It is the best shooting gun for me and I will never part with it. It was love at first fire with the P239. I carry IWB with the Crossbreed Supertuck and it carries very well, but it is a heavier gun than some of the others. I don't carry a BUG or extra magazines as I don't believe that they'll do any good for the majority of encounters. But, if you feel more comfortable with more rounds, the P239 may not be the gun for you.
I also carry a Ruger LCP and the new LC9. I carry the LC9 on a lot of the days that I can't carry the larger P239, but they are two totally different classes of weapons. I feel 10x more confident with the P239 than any of the other guns that I carry and that is most important to me. If you can, try to take it out and shoot it to see how it feels.

I'm 5'10" 280 lbs. I carry a P239 in .357 Sig in a CompTac MTAC IWB holster. It's very comfortable at 3 o'clock and doesn't pinch me at all. Love the gun. Will probably never carry anything else. It holds 7 +1. With an extra mag I have 15 rounds on body. I have a belt-held electronics holster that will hold three extra mags if I want to.
