I did the math (I got bored), so I figured this out.

There were, in total, 8737 bills, resolutions, joint resolutions, etc. filed.

To have all of them read, and voted on, they would have to do 62.4 bills a day-41.65 in the House, and 20.75 in the Senate.

2238 Bills have ben passed in both houses so far. No numbers as to each individual chamber. And no numbers as how many failed. Assuming all the bills considered have passed, there are 6499 remainng.

For both Houses, to read, consider, and vote for all of the remaing bills, they will have to do it at a rate of about 300 per day until this month. Since the House filed twice as many, it would be 200 per day for the House, and 100 per day for the Senate.

My math may be a little off. I set the remaining days as 21.

Out of all the bills heard today, a whopping 13 were passed by the legislature today.

Actually, two were bills, the rest were resolutions.

Here's a list:http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/Reports/ ... odaypassed

Why do the waste time on resolutions?

My guess is either:

a) they want to make people "feel good"

b) they want all of these people to vote for them, or

c) they don't want to work too hard.

I watched some of the 'action' in the House yesterday. It was very instructive.

I don't think they could win a foot race with a glacier.
