Thoughts on benney boy.
I dont post here much, not wanting to add to to the huge work load of this forum
But a few thoughts from the man not the Mod I have had over the last hrs.
We have known for a LONG time that Communist countries have staged their protests & support rallies. The very 1st I remember as a child was a picture of a trafic jam in the Krimlin. Then the news media was honest & had no agenda except news & truth. They showed us school kids the picture in the Pravda. It was a very bumper to bumper jam at the whole intersection going all 4 ways. Then they showed us the long range photo. The traffic jam was only about 1/2 block deep all 4 directions.
Thoughts. Not all these are my original observations.
I was on the TV before the reporters were saying anything except, "this has to be big to be Sunday night at 9:30" & already there was a large group of chanters at the white house. I did wonder how they knew this was good instead of another "Cole" off Libian shores or a hit by terrorists at an embassy some where. How did they get so excited before the announcement as to leave their rooms, dining, site seeing attractions w/o knowing more than an anouncement forthcoming by the Facker in Chief.
It was pointed out to me that the Flags were all brand new & EVERYONE had one or 2. Huuumm shore nuff. I missed that. It was 10:30 there. Where did that many brand new flags come from at that time of night.
1st reports were the raid took place a week ago & the time was needed for the DNA tests. Had to be certain & no mistakes. Then, the report, it just took place & already burried at sea w/in 24 hrs so no shrine could the errected. Any Drs on the board? Can the DNA test be done that fast & that certain on the battle field???
Faker in Chief lied about his faith. Quotes the koran fluiently & extensively but never a verse from the Word of God. Lied about the cost of bama-no-care. Lied about most transparnet administration. The list continues. Dont even need to touch the Birth Certificate issue. Now dead ben & burried at sea w/o any verification at all. Can he suddenly be trusted w/ the truth that cannot be verified???
Oh well, just some thoughts.

The only faith that I have in the man is that he intends to dismantle the US of A. All of his actions are in furtherance of that single goal.

Interesting thoughts. I had similar ones cross my mind when seeing a bunch of college kids rallying in front of the White House. I was in college when the Iraq war started, and even being in a very red state, I don't remember any sort of pro-military gatherings aside from the one "remember POWs" demonstration which consisted of a commo-clad student in a bamboo cage at a prominent location on campus. I can't say I thought the rallies were contrived, but more that college students will take any excuse to cheer and celebrate, even if it is for something they are most likely to oppose in the larger sense. Any excuse for a party.
As for what happened, I have to give credit to the chief executive for not calling off the strike, which has happened with previous chief executives, but I still don't trust a word he says nor did I appreciate the "me me me" speech on the matter. From listening to it you would have thought that he was the one gathering the intel and pulling the trigger, with only the smallest bit of help from a SEAL/CIA man or two.
And this is no way garners any more support for him from me.
Edit: concur with Purplehood

Re: Thoughts on benney boy.
I also agree that the degree of coverage that the "rallies" or demonstrations received leaves me wondering. It seems like a fairly well orchestrated move to generate positive press and support for POTUS, ironically (purposefully???) disguised as things he is, at best, ambivalent toward -- US nationalism (which he is on record as disliking) and support for our armed forces.
Other than folks with a more direct connection to tragedies that bin Laden was linked to, I cannot imagine who would seriously consider the public displays we have seen on the news. While I am pleased that the predominate figurehead for terrorism has been killed, and while I feel great pride for the US and our armed services, I feel only a modicum of relief rather than desire to celebrate bin Laden's death. Terrorism of the kind he led will continue, and only a continued stalwart defense will help against it.
Kudos to the intelligence community for making the raid possible, and Kudos also to everyone involved in the raid. Allowing our forces to do the needful is the least POTUS could have done. It just looks to me like this "crisis" is being used to POTUS benefit.

...I have seen nothing but proof that Hula Obama is a Muslim...nothing in anything he's done gives credence to his claim to be a Christian...and he lies everytime his mouth moves...ANYTHING he has a hand in is suspect and certainly detrimental to the country...his ignoring and dissing of our military has been habitual...now he wants to make our Navy Seals heroes so that his "gutsy" executive decision boosts him up the polls a little...I pray for a real American Patriot President..in 2012...
Re: Thoughts on benney boy.
Only positive thing he has done since becoming Faker in Chief is that he did let it take place. From there I think all the reports & announcements are for I, me, my, yes self, political perposes.
At least he let it go forth.

Re: Thoughts on benney boy.
IMHO, and I might ruffle some feathers here, but I do believe that this was purely political on his part.
I also believe that the Joint Chiefs, CIA, and the Naval Intelligence, as well as the CO of the SEALS all had a huge part in it. Then, after conferring with his handlers, B.O. did what they thought was the politically expedient thing.
They say that the burial was done in Islamic tradition. From what I have read, that is partially true.
Burial at sea is permissible IF:
1) there is a threat of dismemberment to the corpse (which I doubt there was)
2) and if weights were put on the feet to make sure he went down where "no sea creatures could feast off of the body".
I also read the buried him at sea because either we didn't want a shrine erected to him, and he be a martyr, or that no country wanted him.

Agree. None of my feathers ruffled.
He may have even had a few honorable intentions in this. Lets face it no matter how unAmerican an individual believes him to be, Communist, Socialist, countries fight against & kill their enemies & ben did not like Hussein o at all either.
One AttaBoy here will never make ammends for all the OOOOhhhhhhNooos of the last 2.5yrs.

Re: Thoughts on benney boy.
We didn't hear the news until some of the initial misinformation was discounted. Still, "Wag the Dog" immediately came to mind. The news reporting this morning says that the OBL death photos will be released. I'd feel a lot better if those death photos had been taken by an independent source but given the media bias today, it would be hard to find one of those.
In fact, removing OBL is almost insignificant in the grander scheme of anti-terriorism today. The Stratfor report this morning confirmed that al Queda as diversified significantly under the press of US effort to take out its leadership and that Zawahiri is the real head of operations. Taking him out would have had more than just a symbolic result.
There is no arguing, however, that OBL was the most wanted man in the world and that the US has gained back a small measure of the esteem that it had lost by finally, 10 years later, dealing with him.
An interesting sideline is the backlash towards the Americans dancing in the streets at the report of OBL's demise. If I remember, there was significant dancing in the streets after 9-11 in some countries.
I respect our President for not taking the cruise missile approach to OBL that Clinton did. It was definitely a risky decision and now there are human witnesses to the actions. If there was anything less than honest about the affair, it will eventually come out. The hype has been too great to keep a true Wag the Dog scenario under wraps forever.

An interesting update. The US has backed away from its initial account of the killing of Osama bin Laden, which claimed that the al-Qaida leader was carrying a weapon and fired at US troops before he was shot dead.

Re: Thoughts on benney boy.
I initially had the same reaction to all the "me" stuff in his speech. But after thinking about it a bit, I'm not so certain. What would be the point? Surely he could not expect any American or other thinking person to believe he had anything other than a decision choosing role.? Actually, by saying "me/I", he risks looking like a credit-grabber taking credit from the folks who did the real work and the men who risked their lives on Sunday. Perhaps all the "me" stuff was a message to those that would be enraged by the killing of UBL? The Pres pointing at himself and saying "I did this, if you want to be mad at something, be mad at me, not America, not our allies.... me"..?bnc wrote: nor did I appreciate the "me me me" speech on the matter. Or... am I giving him too much credit.

I need to watch an unabridged version of his speech. I suspect you may be correct.RoyGBiv wrote:I initially had the same reaction to all the "me" stuff in his speech. Re: Thoughts on benney boy.
And on whose word are we believing that the POTUS even gave his blessing on the action prior to it? The very one we believe has a history of lies and misspeaking. Might be a case of "better to ask forgiveness" (for not letting him in on it prior) "than to ask permission" (which he might not would of given). Once it was done, he might of just took the ball and ran with it for his own perceived betterment. He had a week to contrive his story. Just my .02 worth.
