YORBA LINDA, Calif. — A man who claimed he was shot while walking on a Yorba Linda bike trail changed his story late Wednesday and admitted that he shot himself, police said.
The 57-year-old man drove himself to a fire station with small-caliber bullet wounds to his left arm and upper leg. He initially told police that he was walking on a trail on La Palma Avenue just east of Gypsum Canyon Road shortly before 7 p.m. when he heard several pops and felt a pain in his leg and arm.
