I'm curious, but what is the best way to handle security when you put your home on the market? With people coming in and out, I worry someone will see the safe as a target, or tell their "cousin" who may try to break in. No one is going to walk off with my safe, but I worry someone may be stupid and think "we can rob them with enough firepower..."

Thoughts?

Put a lock on the closet door where the safe is located and put away all other gun-related items, jewelry and other expensive items.

Buyers will want to know why closet is locked and you can just say it's to keep out the babysitter or whatever. If buyers are serious enough for a second showing then leave the closet door unlocked.
